I call my style "Follow-Me Photography" because that is exactly how it works! Over many years of doing photo-shoots, I discovered that the best, most memorable shots were those captured candidly. My clients have cherished most the images that truly capture who they are.
To accomplish this, my photoshoots are not posed or fake. They are REAL. Kids and families actually having fun and enjoying each other. Sure, we'll take some planned shots of the group, but the best images happen when the fun starts!
Here is the advice I give clients for my sessions:
1. Pick a good location. I don't do studio work so there are no off-camera lights which mean outdoor spaces work the best. More or less, the location should reflect the mood and style of images you want. Beachy, casual, fall colors, sports, city, etc.
2. Plan the day as if I am not there. That's right, no stuffy outfits and perfect hair. Have fun, play games run around! Don't worry, I'll keep up.
3. Plan for about 1-2 hours. If we don't need it, great. If we do, well, you will be glad we made extra time.
4. Relax.
Here are some examples. Many of these shoots started off slow and then once they were warmed-up, well.....
